Heat the oil in a pot; add the onion and cook until translucent.
Add the garlic, tomato paste, tomato, chicken cube, and cumin; simmer for 2 minutes. Add the oatmeal and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer covered for 20 - 25 minutes.
NOTE: I love this during Ramadan. I find it also tastes really great with a little lemon.
